We also accept cash donations. Cash that is donated is used for the materials needed in the recycling process and for enhancements to donated PCs.
Please note that as recipients of your donated equipment CommuniTech declares that:
- Hard drives donated machines will have all personal data removed and will be wiped clean using U.S. Department of Defense standards.
- Any hard drive that cannot be reused will be physically destroyed before being disposed of.
- Any equipment being disposed of through this donation will be done so in accordance with the disposal laws of New York State.
Donated computers are refurbished by our own staff, and given to community computer labs, local non-profits, and used to help bridge the global divide. We load these computers with the Windows XP operating system generously donated by Microsoft.
